I stumbled across this article in the mcoba offside... well its basically about Eton.. the school so closely related to koleq.. and how Eton managed to reposition and reengineered itself to continue to be relevent in this new era... Its a cool article and perhaps it can give us a good idea of how Malay College can improved itself and to once again be the trully "top most prestigious school in Malaysia".. Read the article... |

I had planned to write this for a very long time, in fact since the first day I clumsily agreed to “have a look” at the debating teams. What I did not plan was the manner and context it would finally be written, for it was intended as a tribute to the teams that would finally deliver our double PPMs (English and BM). |

The Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) is the premier and first fully-residential school in Malaysia. Established on 2nd January 1905, it was originally known as the Malay Residential School of Kuala Kangsar. It was an all Malay boys' school located in the Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar, Perak. The school was the brainchild of Mr. R J Wilkinson, then Inspector of Schools for the Federated Malay States. In a letter to the Resident-General dated 24th February 1904, he wrote about "establishing at a suitable locality in the F.M.S., a special residential school for the education of Malays of good family and for the training of Malay boys for admission to certain branches of Government service". |
