Malay College Class of 2004

Starting from this week, I will post a picture weekly. Why the redundancy (since we already have the picture gallery) ? This is due to the fact that the gallery is defunct and not behaving well on this server. And I have decided to give life to the pictures (and also to this website). For your info, I have quite a massive picture collection, which I hope can be shared among us, and to those of you who have pictures that worth sharing, please tell me via private message.

I believe this picture was taken in 1 Cemerlang, notice the band members there? The prefect in the middle is Kamal Hadi (the one who gave Aroy and me countless DCs). One interesting note, on Pozers' right, is Bun (am I right?).

During form 1, we have 2 lookalikes, but with very different personalities. Ive forgot which one was Bun. But one thing that engraved in my head was the rotten one was awful. I scarcely remember he showed his 'doodle' while we were reciting Yasin in Surau Prep School. Add it to the fact that his 'doodle' was still uncurcumcised.

He went out before we ended Form 1. Came Form 2, he reappeared again in New Hostel, and we thought he was just to visit us. No. We were darn wrong. Right before he went back (to his home, or any place he intended), he managed to 'borrow' some wallets. Luckily our rampas caught him on time right before he boarded a bus. 

Alifanuar yg kini berada di Adelaide sedang mengalami hilang ingatan yg agak serius (that's what people from Adelaide told me). A few days ago, he fell off during a martial arts practice and took a pretty heavy knock on his head (pardon my language, as long as you understand that its cool). He managed to get back up and talked about stuffs for a few minutes, then realized he forgot a lot of stuff, including what was he doing at that time and even the person whom he spoke to just now.

My friend Pidut told me, Alif kept asking him the same questions, over and over again, and it was like, the same questions for every 2 minutes. Although I live in Brisbane, the news spreads fast all across the land. There's nothing I can do here, but let us pray for him to gain back his memory. Next week's final exam for most Aussie Uni, so he better off headung to exam hall with at least something in his head. (his YM : frydonny)

The Ode was sung to the tune composed by Anthony Burgess himself. It became the College song for a very short while, as JDR Howell the HM who was vehemently anti-Burgess didnot support its continuation beyond the few instances it was sung under the batonship of teacher Yusuf Tajuddin. Anyway the tune would perhaps not catch-on to Malay ears but the lyrics manifest adequately the objectives and aspirations of the College motto: Fiat Sapientia Virtus (=Let Manliness and Wisdom prevail), just describing an earnest sincere and plain hope and serious endeavour for MCKKians without making any claims to heroism and credit. That should be for others to decide and evaluate.

The Malay version is not a direct translation but an atempt at the translation (i.e. plus interpretation) of the spirit of the Ode to MCKK i.e. Fiat Sapientia Virtus.

Perhaps the Board of Governors, MCOBA, PTA and the College should choose to adopt it as the alternate anthem for MCKK. If it so does, I recommend that the song be sung to the tune of "Hidup Melayu" which was composed and sung when the Pekembar/UMNO flag was first unfurled by the late Sultan Badlishah of Kedah, on 27 07 1946 in front of the Francis Light School just before the Pekembar held its third Supreme Council meeting. That song was the 'new Malay National Anthem' as described by Hashim Sam Latiff that MCKK boys proudly sang when the Pekembar/UMNO flag was raised by the British headmaster on the Malay College main mast on Federation (of Malaya)Day, 01 02 1948, to replace the FMS and the Union Jack/Malayan Union flag.

Its been a while since i last posted stuff regarding the network database of mcoba. Sorry, i've been very busy lately. Nway just to let you know that the website is up and running. The basic infos on you guys (eg: name, batch & house) are all in already. However, there seams to be a major problem regarding your emails. During the process of submitting your emails to mcoba, most probably some of your emails are outdated and no longer in use. Therefore mcoba are unable to send to you your current loign name and password for you to enter the profile area. However, as the moderator of this batch, i' am allowed to enter your profile, thus enabling me to update your info. Sweet as it may seam, frankly speaking, i' m definately not going to update all infos for you guys. Sorry bros.. hehe.. but i think i'm kind enough to help you guys update you emails so that then, when u received your login ID and password, you may then login and update yourselve. Hehe..a fair deal isn't it..

For those whom have received emails from www.mcoba.com.my or mcoba webmaster, u have received your login ID and password. You may enter and update your profile. Very2 similar to friendster. So for you guys outhere, all whom i know are IT savvy, i'm sure you would not face any difficulty ekh.. If you do face, which is very unlikely, i'm here to help, though i think fuqaha would be more than happy to assit you.. hehe.. thanks fuqaha.

For your info, i'm proud to say that our batch is one of the few that has a complete list of its batch member. However, our login percentage is only about 25%. Therefore i'm urging all of us, batch 0004 to jom ramai2 login and update..

Ingatkah kamu semua akan Mr. Tan Gim Hoe? The super genius in maths? Our beloved teacher?

He has just retired from working (technically, tho he still give free tuitions to Clifford & Tsung Wahs).

Aku tak pasti berapa ramai di antara kita yang mengikuti perbincangan di MCKK Com net. Tapi berita ini sangat mengejutkan aku.

talking about an ex teacher of MCKK, I bumped into Mr Tan Gim Hoe last Sunday morning jogging in KK and had a chat. He told me that he on the last day he was in MCKK he cried, not because he was sad to leave but because the College gave him a farewell lunch and a certificate as a momento!! Made him sad he said after 34 years of service!!

 

He is also sad that after leaving he is cut off from the school, although according to him, he haas offered his services to conduct add maths tuition free. He can aslo be made the swimming teacher-in-charge because since his retirement, the swimming pool has been idle.(Quote PKKK during the recent PIBG AGM on why swimming poll is idle " KK sebenarnya Kampung,Kita sekolah diKampung,jadi nak mencari guru yang layak mengajar berenang kena pergi Ipoh!!) Sori ini bukan I cakap,Che Gu yang cakap.MCKK Malay College Kampung Kuala.!!

Beta bersyukur ke hadrat ILAHI kerana dengan izin dan Rahmat dari Nya juga, Beta dapat berangkat untuk menyampaikan Titah Utama sempena Seminar Pembangunan anjuran Khazanah Nasional Berhad.

Khazanah Nasional Berhad telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan seminar dan siri pidato umum sempena negara menyambut ulang tahun kemerdekaan kali kelima puluh. Khazanah kali ini, memilih mengadakan Seminar di Memorial Tunku Abdul Rahman, sebagai penghormatan dan usaha untuk mengingatkan warga akan jasa bakti seorang putera bangsa yang telah dinobatkan taraf sebagai Bapa Kemerdekaan. Inisiatif Khazanah amat dihargai malah harus dicontohi oleh badan-badan koperat dan niaga yang lain. Bahawa dalam memenuhi tanggung jawab membangun dan mengembangkan ekonomi negara, entity perniagaan turut bertanggung jawab menyemaikan rasa patriotisme warga terhadap negara bangsa.
