KUALA LUMPUR: Spooks and spirits, haunted castles, legends of pontianak and jin. Who hasn’t experienced that chill down the spine over an evening of ghost stories?

The Tourism Ministry is looking to the other world to attract more visitors. It is planning to use Malaysia’s treasure trove of haunted buildings, ghostly tales and folk legends as a draw for Visit Malaysia Year next year.

The A-Levels and Ausmat have just ended.. Guess wut.. our friends made us proud.. The all qualified to 'fly'.. So here are some updates on their whereabouts.. Anyway.. congratulations to them all.. and all the best.. Oh yeahh.. most of them would be flying off in February and their destination: Australia and New Zealand..

I had planned to write this for a very long time, in fact since the first day I clumsily agreed to “have a look” at the debating teams. What I did not plan was the manner and context it would finally be written, for it was intended as a tribute to the teams that would finally deliver our double PPMs (English and BM).

“Hari Kecemerlangan Sekolah Berasrama Penuh 2006” will be held in Kuantan (SEMSAS)  beginning from Sunday 28 May 2006.  MCKK will be competing in the Bahasa Malaysia and English debates as well as in Basketball.

The Cagers (MCKK Basketball) team is aiming to win its 11th championship and the third in a row (for the second time).  The Cagers will be playing their first game on Monday 29 May at 9:30 am vs SMS Lahad Datu  at Court 1, SBPI Indera Mahkota.  The Final will be on Thursday, 1 June at 9:30 am SEMSAS Court 1.

Rumors has it that the emperor of Japan... His Imperial Majesty AKIHITO, the 125th Emperor of Japan and Empress MICHIKO will be visiting Malay College Kuala Kangsar on Saturday, 10 June 2006... The couple is scheduled to visit south east asia (Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore) from the 8th June 2006 till the 13th.

The couple's visit will be accompanied by former Foreign Minister of Japan, Yoriko Kawaguchi. Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko will be visiting the northern Malaysia state of Perak, the only state that possesses a royal house descended directly from the rulers of legendary Malacca.

No official statement has confirmed the emperor's visit to Malay College but internal sources has indicated that intensive preparation for the upcoming event will begin on the 3rd of June 2006.

Will this visit trully happen or might it just be another false alarm, like the one that happen in 1991... "penantian yang tidak kunjung tiba". Who knows.. only time will tell.. Anyway, its a great honor fo koleq to be having such a visit.. especially from the Emperor of Japan himself.. though its not the first time a royal family has ever visited koleq, adding to the long list of royalist and VIPs that have visited koleq in the past. 

How wonderful it would be if we could all be there.. and be part of this special occasion... how lucky the present boys are....
