Perhaps many of us do not know that the Finale Wind Orchestra SBP 2006 was held recently… on Wednesday, 19^th of July 2006 at the prestigious KL Convention Center. It was held in conjunction with the Persidangan Sedunia Seni Muzik, ISME. The competition was officiated by our very own Dato Seri Hishamuddin, the Education Minister. Like always.. only the best 5 teams would have the opportunity to compete and again our Alma Matter was not part of it.. how sad… Anyway.. a little story to share… The competition was held at the KLCC Auditorium and entry was kind of strict.. Only guesses with invitation cards were allowed to enter… heee perhaps some of us members of 0004) managed to get hold of the invitation cards thanks to the kind TKC girls.. “hmmm.. I never thought I would ever say that phrase”.. Anyway.. lets get to the point.. the competition started at around 8.30 pm with TKC and then followed by STF and SSP.. the all girls school.. then followed by 2 all boys schools.. SDAR and finally SAS. The performances weren’t that ‘gempaq’ as we have expected but overall it was a nice show… Perhaps the best part of the night was the performances by 2 international music academies; Ballanta Academy of Music of Sierra Leone and by the Khanty-Mansysck Folk Instruments of Russia. The results: Champion: for the 2^nd time running plus adding to their undisputed tally of 5, Sekolah Alam Shah 1^st Runners Up : The home team, Sekolah Seri Puteri 2^nd Runners Up : Sekolah Dato’ Abdul Razak ISME was kind enough to introduce and sponsor a new award which is the best conductor award and the recipient of this award was the SSP conductor. Just to add on… perhaps the main reason behind SSP success was the brilliant performance by their soloist.. whom happen to be the beloved sister of our beloved friend, Mr Shahir Md Tahir @ Bean.. (Quote form Bean himself) so imagine being beside bean the whole night…. One more thing.. the present boys were also present with their baju batik…. kind of weird when u're seating among people whom are supporting someone and u're not.. heheh atleast koleq still has a representative on the stage...though 'his' not competing... So.. that’s it..
