Malay College Class of 2004

Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera buat semua..

Tahun ini, Pertandingan Debat Antara Sekolah Malaysia 2008 (lebih terkenal dengan gelaran Interschoool) telah diadakan dari 11-16 April 2008. Setelah mengharungi 7 pusingan awal, pusingan octo final, quarter final dan semi final, alhamdulillah, selama 5 tahun berturut-turut koleq berjaya melayakkan diri ke peringkat akhir bagi kategori Bahasa Melayu.

Koleq yang diwakili oleh:
1) Nasrullah Alimin
2) Aqwa Alif
3) Affendy
4) Azri

Di peringkat akhir, koleq telah dijadualkan menentang SMAP Kajang. Dengan usul 'Pendidikan Kita Sudah Bertaraf Dunia', koleq yang bertindak selaku kerajaan dan SMAP Kajang selaku pembangkang telah menghasilkan perdebatan yang cukup sengit dan begitu mendebarkan.

Tatkala keputusan diumumkan, terpaksa akur kepada ketentuan Ilahi, bahawasanya koleq telah tewas di tangan SMAP Kajang dengan juri 4-5. Maka, misi mempertahankan Piala Tun Sri Lanang yang dimiliki tahun lalu tidak tercapai.

Kendatipun begitu, Fendy telah berjaya menggondol gelaran pembahas terbaik keseluruhan dan juga pembahas terbaik pertandingan akhir, seterusnya mempertahankan gelaran yang sama yang diperolehinya lantas mencipta fenomena dan membina nama selaku lagenda debat untuk generasi pendebat masa kini.

Tahniah buat koleq. Tidak pernah ada satu pun sekolah yang berjaya mencipta kejayaan sebegini sepanjang mana-mana pertandingan debat. 5 tahun berturut-turut ke final adalah kejayaan yang cukup membanggakan. Tahniah juga buat Fendy selaku kapten pasukan yang tidak pernah terlepas ke pertandingan akhir sejak beliau menyertai pertandingan ini pada tahun 2005.

6) UIA National Championship is the biggest parliamentary debate competition organised on carnival basis (topic given half an hour before each debate) that brought schools from all categories - SBP, MRSM, premier schools, private schools, Chinese schools, Maahad Tahfiz etc. - perhaps the best indication that at least in debating, we are still one of the best; if not the best

Affendy won the best speaker overall and best speaker final.

It was a new team anyway and despite the intense pressure (those who were there should remember how the whole hall cheered for opponents) throughout the tournaments, the 2 newbies withstood the pressure and brought us to the final.

From 2009 onwards it's a new team altogether for both - the planning that took place in 2003/04 came to fruition in 2007 and an end in 2008. We have to start scratch with the next generation of debaters - and maybe the new coaches (Sdr Izzat 2004 etc.) will take it from where we the older generation (myself, Arwah Adlan Benan, Arwah Shahrol, Sdr Adany Co90, Sdr Fazurin Co94 and Sdr Sani Co95) left.

ape2 pn.. with all that is happening in koleq rite now.. with the debating team, and the wind orchestra team..and the mc-cagers.. i dare to say that no other school in this country could ever match our achievements!! (no hard feelings ekh comrades from other schools) just portraying my greatest feeling of proud ness to my one and only alma matter .hehe

Nevertheless.. lets not forget those hard working boys plus the old boys that regardless of rain or shine, they still find some time to come back and 'train & give advice' to the younger gen. Its the 'koleq spirit of pride passion and tradition' that overwhelms all of us ekh..

keep it up guys.. to everyone.. present boys and old boys alike..
